The origin
of Blackjack is somewhat unclear. With a Jack being a vital card and Spades being black, the
game was called Blackjack. As of 1989, only two states
had legalized casino gambling. Since then, about 20 states have had a number of

seats 1 to 7 players and each player has a betting square printed in front of
them on the felt and each table will have a minimum bet which you should check

at a time, from left to right until both the players and dealer has two cards.
In a shoe game the cards are dealt face up and you shouldn't touch the cards. You must keep your hand over the table at all times
and if you are dealt any more cards to leave them on the table. Going over 21 is called "Busting." You
are playing only against the dealer. Once all bets are
placed, each player and the dealer will receive two cards. Jacks, Queens and Kings always have a value of 10. If
your first two cards total 21, you have Blackjack and win 3:2 odds on your bet
automatically unless the dealer draws Blackjack as well causing a tie or a
"Push." In the case of a tie, no money is won or lost. Stand
- you stand if you don't want any more cards.
