Blackjack Free Gambling
The game became known as Blackjack because if a player
held a Jack of Spades and an Ace of Spades as the 1st two cards, the player was
paid out extra. With a Jack being a vital card and Spades being black, the
game was called Blackjack. Gambling was legal out West from the 1850's to 1910, at which time
Nevada made it a felony to operate a gambling game. As of 1989, only two states
had legalized casino gambling. You must keep your hand over the table at all times
and if you are dealt any more cards to leave them on the table. Card between 2 and 10 simply have their face
value regardless of suit. An
Ace can count as 1 or 11 depending on what is most beneficial to your hand.
Player's add the value of their cards and either decide to "Stick" or
"Stand" with their current cards or receive another card, called a
"Hit" or "Draw," hopefully raising their total closer to 21
without going over. If
your first two cards total 21, you have Blackjack and win 3:2 odds on your bet
automatically unless the dealer draws Blackjack as well causing a tie or a
"Push." In the case of a tie, no money is won or lost. You win if your
hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's hand. The
10, Jack, Queen, and King are all valued at 10. Hit - if you are not satisfied with your current total you can ask the dealer to hit you which means he deals you another card in addition to your
two. You are hit until you are satisfied with your total, or until you bust. Split - if your starting hand contains two cards of the same type (i.e. two 9's) you can split them up into two new
hands.
